Being a Mother (Really Nice)

Somebody said it takes about six weeks to get back to normal after you've had a baby.....
somebody doesn't know that once you're a mother, 'normal' is history.

Somebody said you learn how to be a mother by instinct ...
somebody never took a three-year-old shopping.

Somebody said being a mother is boring ....
somebody never rode in a car driven by a teenager with a driver's permit.

A Touching Poem

I went to a party Mom,
I remembered what you said.
You told me not to drink, Mom,
So I drank soda instead.

I really felt proud inside, Mom,
The way you said I would.
I didn't drink and drive, Mom,
Even though the others said I should.

A Silent Cry

A silent cry for you
It crept into my heart
It sneaked into it silently
And settled down to stay
 

So slowly I didn't realize
Until you had to part
And suddenly this silent cry

that we entered in.
